Derry teens in grades 6 to 12 are invited to enter an original drawing of manga or anime in our Manga/Anime Drawing Contest.
Contest winners will receive prizes and their work will be displayed in the library. All drawings will be judged by a small panel including the Young Adult Librarian.
The deadline for entries is Friday, February 19th.
CONTEST RULES 1) Contest is open to Derry residents in grades 6 to 12. 2) Drawings must be your own work and in freehand (not traced or copied). They must be clean in content. 3) Please submit a completed entry form with your drawing. Entry forms are available at the library or can be printed here.
HOW TO ENTER • Deliver your drawing and entry form to a librarian at the reference desk in the Derry Public Library OR • Mail your submission and entry form to Anime Drawing Contest Attn: Joan Swerdloff Derry Public Library 64 E. Broadway Derry, NH 03038

Nominate a book for the Isinglass and Flume awards! Both the Isinglass and the Flume Award committees are still looking for nominations for their 2011 lists of finalists.
The Isinglass Award is the NH book award for grades 7-8, and the Flume Award is the NH Teen Reader’s Choice Award for grades 9-12. Teens nominate books each year and then vote for their favorite from the list of finalists. To nominate a book, fill out a nomination slip in the Teen Area while you’re at the library.

Volunteer with the Teen Advisory Group (TAG), a group to help us serve teens better. Plan library programs, do special projects, and help design our new teen space.

Knitting and crocheting are hip again! Drop in to learn the basics or to work on your own project. Expert knitters and crocheters will be on hand to instruct and help. Please bring your own yarn and needles. All skill levels are welcome!
